Tabu replaces Rekha as Miss Havisham in 'Fitoor'

Mumbai: If you were excited to see the living legend Rekha as Miss Havisham in ‘Fitoor’, you will be disappointed to know the actress has been replaced in the film. In a sudden turn of events, it is now learnt that the veteran actress has been replaced by Tabu in the film.

Film critic Rajeev Masand tweeted the shocking news. He broke the news in a tweet that read, “JUST IN: Tabu replaces Rekha as the Miss Havisham character in Great Expectations adap Fitoor starring Aditya Roy Kapoor & Katrina Kaif.”


The Abhishek Kapoor-directed film, which is the Hindi adaptation of the classic novel ‘Great Expectations’ grabbed headlines for its impressive cast consisting of Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Rekha . After her cameo in R Balki’s ‘Shamitabh’, fans were excited to see Rekha get more screen time in ‘Fitoor’.

The team recently wrapped up its shooting schedule in Dehli and Srinagar. According to reports Rekha even re-shot some scenes of the film in Mumbai. But she has now been replaced by Tabu, who was the initial choice for the role.

It’s disappointing to know Rekha will not be a part of the highly-anticipated film, however it will be interesting to see Tabu essay the role of Miss Havisham, after her breathtaking performance in ‘Haider’.
