Rana brought KJo on board
S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali which has been in the works for the last two years because of its period set, will hit the marquee on July 10 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.
Top Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar will be releasing the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Beginning. Few know that Rana Daggubati was behind the collaboration between KJo and Rajamouli. Apparently, Rana plays the epic villain Bhallaladeva in Baahubali which is a tale of warriors, kingdoms and the struggle for power. It was Rana, apparently, who introduced Rajamouli to Karan a few months back.
Ask Rana, who is now shooting for his Tamil film, a remake of the Malayalam hit Bangalore Days, if he was instrumental in bringing the two giants together, the macho star replies, “Yes that’s how it was. I know Karan Johar well so I showed him parts of the film. He was very happy with what he saw and was on board to release the Hindi film along with Anil Thadani. It was definitely a big boost for us, getting a Hindi release and with someone of his stature”.
The actor ruled out the rumour that he is playing the titular role in the Bollywood film Adventures of Tarzan, with Sunny Leone essaying the sexy Jane. “It is baseless, I don’t even know where such news comes from (laughs).”
