Telangana, Andhra Pradesh excel in CBSE Class XII
Hyderabad: Students from Telangana and AP surpassed the national average of 82 per cent passes in the Class 12 CBSE exams, the results for which were announced on Monday.
TS achieved 92.69 per cent pass percentage while it was 87.84 in AP. Girls registered a higher pass percentage than boys in both the states, which fall under the Chennai zone of the CBSE. Naila Fathima from Meridian School, Banjara Hills, got 95.8 per cent in the science stream while Vishesh Agarwal from the same school scored 96.4 in the commerce stream. Shravya from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills, secured 97 per cent in English and Swathika got 94 per cent marks in Chemistry.
AP saw 6,005 students take the exams, including 3,887 boys and 2,118 girls. Of them, 86.8 per cent boys and 89.75 per cent girls passed the exams. In TS, 3,856 students took the exams, among them 2,108 boys and 1,750 girls. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 94.08 per cent and boys, 90.93.
Photocopies of the evaluated answer sheets will be provided to candidates requesting for it and only to candidates who have applied for verification of marks. Applications will be accepted by the Board from June 13 to June 17.
Candidates who apply for verification of marks and for obtaining photocopy of the evaluated answer book can apply for re-evaluation in maximum 10 questions each. The re-evaluation of answer books will be available for subjects like English Core, English Elective (NCE-RT), English Elective (CBSE), Hindi Core, Hindi Elective, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Economics and Accountancy.
