Firms will apply for ‘master developer’ position according to the rules framed by AP government

Hyderabad: Singapore home minister S. Iswaran said that some of companies of the island nation are evincing interest in developing AP’s new capital city Amaravati.

Speaking to reporters along with AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat after submitting the master plan for the capital city, Mr Iswaran said that Singaporean companies will also apply for the ‘master developer’ job according to the rules framed by the AP government.

Mr Iswaran said that the master plan will guide the development of Amaravati up to 2050. He said that the Singapore government had worked closely with the AP government to complete the master plan on schedule.

Mr Iswaran said, “I am happy that Singapore has contributed to Andhra Pradesh’s vision to create a vibrant and liveable city for its people. Amaravati will truly be a people’s capital.”

He added that the delivery of master plan marks the second milestone in the three- stage plan of the Memorandum of Understanding between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh.

He said in the first stage, the capital region plan was completed and handed over to the AP government on March 30. Mr Iswaran said that the new capital Amaravati will be constructed with a new benchmark and international standards.
