The film starring Arshad Warsi, Amit Sadh is based on the issue of khap panchayat

Mumbai: National award winning director Subhash Kapoor's (he won for the much acclaimed 'Jolly LLB') next 'Guddu Rangeela' is about two miscreants who land up biting more than they can chew and get into a big mess.

Subhash Kapoor says, "Guddu Rangeela is my tribute to the iconic jodis of bollywood like Jai-Veeru, Ram-Lakhan, Karan-Arjun etc. They are two loveble, funny and quirky underdogs. They are simple and vulnerable but very intense and gutsy when required."

The two characters are vibrant, they are full of life and takes each day as it comes to them. They run a village band called the Guddu Rangeela Orchestra Party and try and make their living by singing quirky songs that entertain the masses.

To build on the quirky-ness of the characters Subhash gave them two long jackets that they wear while performing on stage - Guddu wears a long coat that says 'Being Hanuman' and Arshad wears one saying 'After Whisky I'm Risky'! they crack jokes, sing songs and do dance routines that bring the event alive. Guddu Rangeela is set to release on July 3.

Arijit Singh has been roped in by Subhash Kapoor and Amit Trivedi for the film that takes on the issue of khap panchayat as its backdrop. The number one singer of the country will be singing a romantic song in the film titled 'Suiyaan' and the director is excited to have him singing in his album.
