Shaikpet mandal is fraud prone

With this, the prime property worth nearly Rs 100 crore could be saved from encroachments
Hyderabad: Shaikpet mandal remains an area prone to encroachment in the city. Inquiries by the revenue department revealed that the menace of fake registration papers is rampant in this area due to costly lands covering Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills.
Officials could save lands worth hundreds of crores of rupees by detecting fake registration documents in Shaikpet. During the recent Land Regularisation Scheme implemented by Telangana government, over 150 applications came from this mandal. Majority of these applications were turned down after it was found that the applicants created fake registration documents to claim ownership on these lands.
Encroachers had not even spared the lands allotted to police department in the costly Banjara Hills areas. This prime property spread over 8 acres in Road No.12 was allotted to police department some decades ago, but no constructions were taken up on this land and it is lying vacant.
Encroachers eyed this land and created fake registration documents claiming ownership over 2 acres of this land.
The police department brought this issue to the notice of revenue department which conducted the inquiry and detected that the registration papers were fake.
With this, the prime property worth nearly Rs 100 crore could be saved from encroachments. In another instance, encroachers eyed prime property worth Rs 200 crore in Banjara Hills Road No.2. They created fake documents and even applied for NoC from the revenue department. Officials took over the land after finding that the documents were fake.
