Biju’s driver passes lie test
As many as 38 questions were asked to Ambili who was accompanied by his lawyer
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Bar Hotel Owners Association working president Biju Ramesh’s driver Ambili, who claimed to have witnessed finance minister K M Mani being bribed, has passed the polygraph test conducted by the Forensic Science Laboratory on May 18. The FSL report, which has been handed over to the Vigilance court, says that Ambili has successfully repeated the statements that he had earlier given to the Viglance.
Ambili had told the vigilance that he had taken bar owners, including KBHOA president D Rajkumar Unni, to Finance Minister K M Mani’s official residence at the Cliff House compound in Biju Ramesh’s car on May 3, 2014, to hand over Rs 35 lakh, part of the Rs one crore bribe alleged to have been paid Mani.
As many as 38 questions were asked to Ambili who was accompanied by his lawyer. The polygraph test on Ambili had lasted for about three hours. The questions were prepared by Vigilance officials and polygraph experts. Apart from posers related to the case at hand, certain personal questions were also asked during the process.
Now with bar owners expressing their solidarity with Biju Ramesh, bar owners who were asking for more time for a polygraph test might grant their permission. Vigilance had been asking for the conduct of polygraph tests on four bar owners, including Rajkumar Unni, who are key witnesses in the case.
