After a 40-day schedule of his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Kashmir, director Kabir Khan returned to Mumbai to rumours that his film won’t be released on the scheduled date. The soft-spoken and resolute Kabir responded to the news saying, “I don’t know where that came from. I was in Kashmir shooting with virtually no communication with Mumbai when this rumour of a delay was spread. We’ve finished the shooting and are now into post-production. We are most definitely releasing on Id, as per schedule. There is no change in that plan and there won’t be any.”
Kabir admits the film’s first look has taken longer than expected. “I had no time to cut a first-look or trailer as I was shooting non-stop. But we’ll put out the first look in a few days and then the trailer shortly after that,” he said.
Kabir is aware of the heightened expectations from the film. They don’t daunt him. “I’ve never worked thinking about how the audience would react. I am aware that there is an added interest in Bajrangi Bhaijaan because of Salman. Believe me, he will be seen in a completely different avatar in this film. Just like what he did in Ek Tha Tiger was very different too.”
