3,930 students from Tamil Nadu take up JEE today
Chennai: Over 3,000 students from Tamil Nadu will take up JEE (Advanced) test on Sunday. As many as 27,655 students from the IIT-Madras zone - comprising states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and the Union Territory of Puducherry - had secured a slot in the top 1.5 lakh ranks of JEE (Main) to take up JEE (Advanced) this year.
Of the 27,655 IIT aspirants, 3,930 are from Tamil Nadu who would write the examination at centres in Chennai and Madurai on Sunday.Students will write paper-1 from 9 am to 12 noon and paper-2 between 2 pm and 5 pm. Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Questions will be of objective type (multiple choice) and numerical answer type questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. Students will get negative marks for wrong answers. The results will be announced on June 18 at 10 am. This year, IITs and NITs will have joint counselling and students will be admitted based on their rank.
