Swachh Hyderabad drive review meet held on Friday

CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday held a review meeting on the Swachh Hyderabad programme
Hyderabad: During the five-day Swachh Hyderabad programme, 45,753 metric tonnes of garbage and debris was cleared, and close to 7.5 lakh people, including nodal officers, participated. A total of 8,562 works worth Rs 729 crore — regarding housing, sanitation, drinking water and roads — have been proposed for the city.
TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday held a review meeting on the Swachh Hyderabad programme. He directed the officials to create awareness among the people about the usage of separate bins for wet and dry waste. He said this would facilitate easier disposal of garbage. The CM also asked the officials to ensure that garbage and debris is removed from the city roads frequently with the active cooperation of shopkeepers.
Officials have also been told to take immediate measures to remove high-tension wires which are located close to the houses and apartments. Mr Rao said that complaints of drinking water contamination should be attended to on priority basis.
