Remove netas’ posters, asks CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
He asked not to put posters displaying his or other Cabinet ministers’ photograph
Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, during a programme on Swachh Hyderabad, asked not to put posters displaying his or other Cabinet ministers’ photograph.
“No posters will be permitted on Metro Rail pillars and in other public places in the city henceforth,” announced the Chief Minister. He also expressed hope that the decision would encourage other political parties also to follow suit.
The discussion on posters was started during the review programme while the officials were giving observations and suggestions on Swachh Hyderabad and it drew instant response from the Chief Minister.
Observing that indiscriminate pasting of posters is marring the beauty of Metro Rail pillars and the city, HMR managing director N.V.S. Reddy said that there should be a political will to stop this and leaders should voluntarily ask their party workers not to put such posters.
Directing the officials, the CM asked the GHMC authorities to start removing all such posters and banners of all political parties from May 23 onwards and to start with his party’s posters first. “Not only on Metro pillars, but all over the city. From Saturday, there should not be a single poster or banner of any political party,” said the CM.
