Modi government most incompetent regime ever, says Congress
Bhopal: Days ahead of the Narendra Modi Government completing a year in office, Congress General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed on Saturday dubbed it as the "most incompetent" regime the country has ever seen.
"The Modi government has failed on all fronts, specially on the borders. The country's security is under threat. 746 incidents of ceasefire violations took place last year as against 96 in the last year of the previous UPA regime," Ahmed told reporters here.
The senior Congress leader claimed that the NDA government failed to deliver on matters of foreign policy and social development.
"The country has never seen such an incompetent government. His government has failed on the issues of social development, foreign policy and internal security," Ahmed claimed.
Ahmed said Sushma Swaraj was less of a foreign minister as the role seems to have been appropriated by (Gautam) Adani "who accompanies the Prime Minister on his foreign visits".
"As per norm, the Prime Minister is accompanied by External Affairs Minister. But, Modi has changed this tradition by ignoring Sushma Swaraj...In her place, Adani accompanies Modi on his foreign visits," Ahmed said.
Ahmed said Modi had during Lok Sabha election campaign last year accused the UPA government of promoting meat export to reach out to a particular community.
"...in one year of the Modi Government, meat export has gone up by 36 per cent," he claimed.
