Lost child rescued in Chennai Central

RPF personne searched platforms and scanned CCTV footage to find out the boy

Chennai: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Friday helped a three-year-old boy rejoin his family after he got lost in the crowd at the Central railway station, triggering tense moments for his family members for nearly two hours. The boy, J. Chikash of Tiruvannamalai, had come to the city from New Delhi by Tamil Nadu Express, with his parents C. Jayapal and J.Sumathi and elder sister Nityashri. The train reached Central railway station around 8 am.

The family was waiting to board the West Coast Express to reach Katpadi. Around 9.30 am, Sumathi and Nithyashree went to the ladies room when the child who was sitting besides his father in the waiting hall disappeared.After a frantic search, the alarmed parents approached the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

According to an RPF officer, the personnel immediately searched all platforms and scanned CCTV footage. An hour later, the boy who was found weeping near an entrance by an RPF personnel was restored to his parents, much to their relief and the personnel.
