Firing at Film City near Big B’s shooting site
Amitabh Bachchan is reported to have been present inside the studio when the firing took place
MUMBAI: A 45-year-old security agency contractor was shot at by three unidentified assailants on a motorcycle on Friday afternoon outside Film City in Goregaon severely injuring him. While the accused have escaped, cops believe a rivalry with security companies to be the motive behind the firing. Actor Amitabh Bachchan is reported to have been present inside the studio when the firing took place.
He tweeted about incident and claimed to be 20 feet away from where the incident took place. The studio has, however, denied that. The injured has been identified as Raju Shinde alias Shrikant, who was seated near Trinity Building at Film city near Gate number 2 when the assailants rode past the main road and opened fire, firing three rounds.
Mr Shinde is the secretary of the Chitrapat Sena, which is the cine workers union of the Shiv Sena, and is also the owner of a temple in the Aarey Colony. Mr Bachchan had tweeted, “Okay !! Shooting at Film City..and a gang war shootout 20 feet from where we are..!! 1 dead..cops all over.” He later tweeted again, “Correction : in gang shoot out where I was shooting in Film City person shot at is NOT dead . He has been taken to hospital ..”(sic)
