Hyderabad: The police arrested a youth for allegedly raping his cousin at her residence in Balajinagar. The culprit, identified as Sheik Fayaaz, 24, is a native of Latur in Maharashtra. He had completed graduation and was working at a mobile store. Jawaharnagar inspector P. Venkatagiri said Fayaaz's aunt stays at Balajinagar and he used to frequently visit her house. The 22-year-old victim also stays there. Fayaaz got acquainted with her and captured her nude images and videos while she was bathing. On April 4 when the victim’s family went to Latur fayaaz came to the victim's house and sexually assaulted her.
“The victim informed her parents and said that Fayaaz had promised to marry the victim. However, later he refused and started avoiding her. It was then the victim’s family approached us. Based on a complaint a rape case was booked under The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 201 of IPC and the IT Act,” said Mr Venkatagiri. The accused was arrested late on Thursday and sent to judicial remand on Friday.
