83.96 per cent pass in Plus Two, Kozhikode tops
Thiruvananthapuram: The pass percentage in this year’s higher secondary examinations is 83.96, which is 4.57 per cent higher than last year’s 79.39.
The results were announced by Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb here on Thursday. The pass percentage of vocational higher secondary is 91.63, an all-time record.
As many as 151 students got 1,200 marks out of 1,200 in the higher secondary examinations. More girls than boys secured A+ in all subjects. A total of 10,839 students, including 7,768 girls, bagged A+ for all subjects. As many as 59 schools recorded 100 per cent pass.
Kozhikode district has the highest pass percentage of 87.5 and Pathanamthitta recorded the lowest of 76.17. Out of the total 3, 43,489 students who appeared for the examinations, 2, 88,362 qualified for higher studies. Of the 1, 83,460 girls, 1, 63,908 qualified for higher studies with a pass percentage of 89.34 percent.
Out of 1, 59,999 boys, 1, 26454 qualified for higher studies with a pass percentage of 77.78. The number of schools that achieved 100 per cent success is 59.
They include nine government schools. The district with the maximum number of students gaining A+ in all subjects is Thiruvananthapuram with 1,248.
In the technical higher secondary examinations (THSE), the pass percentage is 76.
