VHP to open medical, engineering colleges in Kerala

The posting in the colleges of Yogam has not yet been approved

Alappuzha: VHP president Pravin Togadia said here on Wednesday that it would start five medical colleges and ten engineering colleges in Kerala in association with Hindu groups.

He was speaking to reporters after calling on Mr Vellappally Natesan, SNDP Yogam general secretary, at his house at Kanichukulangara near Cherthala here.

He said districts like Idukki and Alappuzha would be given priority to launch the colleges. “Technical education will be boosted among Hindu youths. Free medical assistance will be given to the poor Hindus with the support of private companies,” he said.

However, Mr Vellappally responded that the Yogam would cooperate with the Parishad’s projects in Kerala after vetting them with the Yogam council.

Lashing out at the Oommen Chandy government, he said that all hope on the UDF government had gone. “The posting in the colleges of Yogam has not yet been approved. The government is soaked in corruption,” he rued. The meeting between Mr Togadia and Mr Vellappally lasted for over one-and-a- half hours .
