Stick to state syllabus, Telangana tells private schools

Many private schools claim to have “dynamic” and “integrated” curriculum

Hyderabad: Fancy curriculum like “techno syllabus” and “international syllabus” in private state board schools are now illegal. The TS government has barred private schools in the state from devising their own syllabus and using textbooks of their choice.

The government sent circulars to all private schools directing them to use only government printed textbooks.

Many private schools claim to have “dynamic” and “integrated” curriculum. Barring the Class X public exams, all the other exams are held at the school-level. Though the SSC Board provides schools with question papers for the quarterly, half-yearly and final exams for all classes, they are ignored by private schools.

Schools claim to amalgamate elements from other boards in their syllabus reasoning that state-prescribed syllabus is low in standard. They even market themselves on the basis of this syllabus. They have now been barred from doing so.
