CM Oommen Chandy calls all-party meet on Vizhinjam port project
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In view of the allegations raised by the Opposition against granting the bid for Vizhinjam port project to Adani Ports, the government has decided to convene an all-party meeting on June 3 to reach a consensus.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters here on Wednesday that any further decision on the project would be taken only after the all-party meeting as the government wanted to ensure hundred percent transparency in the deal.
“If the Opposition could make the government convince that there is any corruption in the deal, the government would not hesitate to rethink. However, the government feels that the allegations were baseless. Even the LDF had earlier decided to grant the project to Adani group, but was not approved by the centre owing to the presence of a Chinese company in the consortium,” he said.
