The deceased, Manoj, failed for the third time in his SSLC exams

BENGALURU: Failed for the third time in his SSLC exams, a 17-year-old student committed suicide by jumping into a river on Tuesday night under Kadugodi police limits.

The deceased, Manoj, son of Shivappa, was studying in a government school in Seegehalli on Magadi road. Manoj is survived by his father, mother and a younger sister.

The deceased was said to be depressed after the SSLC results came out on May 12, as he had failed third time in a row. He went missing from home around 11.30 pm n Tuesday, the police said.

A few local residents noticed a body floating in a channel of South Pinakini river between Kadugodi and Hoskote Main Road around 7.30 am on Wednesday and informed the police.
