The deceased was into real estate business as well. The murder took place when Vetriselvan was on way to his office in Raghavan Nagar, near Moovarasanpettai. He had stopped his car at a teashop around 8 am in Kannan Nagar.
After having had tea, when he was getting into his car, a gang, headed by Jagan, reached there in a car. The mercenaries jumped out of Jagan’s vehicle and attacked Vetriselvan with deadly weapons.
The VCK member ran for cover and went into a catering firm nearby. Arumugham, an employee of the catering firm, tried to protect him by downing the shutter.
