Hyderabad ‘She Team’ arrested the autorickshaw driver

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad ‘She Team’ arrested an autorickshaw driver on Wednesday for teasing and misbehaving with a woman passenger at Lothkunta area in Trimulgherry following a complaint received on its Facebook page. The accused, Medaboina Ramulu, 35, is a resident of Balakrishna Nagar in Ramanthapur. According to police, Ramulu has been driving autorickshaw for six months and recently, while waiting for passengers in Lothkunta, he asked a woman, who was passing by, whether she wanted an autorickshaw.
When the woman refused and walked away, he followed her and stopped the autorickshaw in front of her. “He started passing lewd comments at her and continued following her her. The victim noted down the number of the autorickshaw and sent it to her husband who in turn informed the police. The issue was posted on Facebook,” said the She Team in a release. The accused was traced and handed over to the Trimulgherry police. A case under Sections 506 and 509 of the IPC was booked against him and he was sent to remand.
