No intimacy or kissing scenes for Fawad Khan

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who will be seen in Karan Johar’s Kapoor and Sons, made the filmmaker rework his contract at the eleventh hour. Reason? Fawad wanted to make it clear to Dharma Productions that keeping his country’s cultural sensibilities and fan following in mind, he wouldn’t be comfortable doing intimate scenes or kissing on screen. That is also why the team had to rework a few scenes that required Alia Bhatt and Fawad to get cosy.

Says a source, “When you change one scene, it automatically affects a few other scenes that follow. The team of writers had to undergo much trouble to rewrite a few intimate scenes with Alia and Fawad even though they weren’t too forced or anything in the first place.” Apparently, Karan, who is used to working with a bound script, wasn’t too happy about the last minute changes.

Says a source close to Khan, “Fawad is married and has a certain following of fans who look up to him. The scenes were very situational, but they had to be toned down.” Karan had gone on record to admit that his mother is a fan of Fawad. She was the one who asked her star filmmaker son to cast him in one of his big films.

Fawad may have mommy Johar to thank for all the special treatment being given to him.
