After Vidya Balan opted out of Sujoy Ghosh’s magnum opus Durga Rani, Kangana Ranaut was roped in to play the lead. The actress even went on record to confirm that she had officially signed the film. But the latest we hear is that Kangana too has opted out, possibly to make way for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan this time.
During a Twitter chat with fans, Ash, who is currently at the Cannes Film Festival wrote, “I will head back and continue the shoot of Jazbaa. It is 70 per cent complete and I will shoot the rest in the coming days. After that, I will work with Karan Johar on his film. He is such a good friend but this is the first time, I will be actually working with him. After that, there are a couple of more projects. One of them will be with Sujoy Ghosh. Sujoy did say he was okay with me announcing it.”
The National Award for Queen and the positive buzz around Tanu Weds Manu Returns may have made Kangy choosy about her projects. The actress also, recently, walked out of Omung Kumar’s film based on the life of Sarabjit Singh. Says a source close to the actress, “Despite parting ways, Kangana continues to maintain a cordial equation with all the filmmakers.” As for Sujoy, he seems to have got a sweet deal too.
