Angela Slinn, a 45 year-old mother-of-three from Britain fell in love with 30 year-old Jaspal Singh living in Ludhiana in a whirlwind romance online. The love story that began on social networking site Facebook, turned into tragedy when the star-crossed lover decided to meet her love in India. Ms Slinn who was estranged with her husband Stephen did not let him know of her trip to India. She however had spoken about the trip she was undertaking to her children.
Ms Slinn worked as a nurse in Britain. Upon her arrival in India, she contracted pneumonia. Within a week her condition detoriated and she was hospitalized. Her plans to meet her lover could not materialize as fate had other cruel plans for her.
Her lover Jaspal Singh, living in Ludhiana in Punjab was shocked when he came to know of Ms Slinn’s death. In a report in the Daily Mail, Mr Singh was quoted as saying ‘I can’t believe she is no more’.
