Bojjala Gopalakrishna to solve water woes
Roja said that the district administration is having sufficient funds to supply water through tankers
Tirupati: Minister for forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy assured that the district administration has taken steps to supply sufficient drinking water to solve water problem. Replying to the questions raised by the YSRC MLA Roja, he replied that if there is water scarcity, he asked to give details, the district administration will take steps to supply drinking water.
He addressed Chittoor district ZP general body meeting held on Tuesday. Speaking on this occasion, he explained steps taken by the district administration to solve drinking water problem. He said that the district administration is having sufficient funds to supply water through tankers.
He urged the people make the ‘Neeru-Chettu’ programme a grand success and added that the aim of the programme is protect ground water tables. ZP chairman Geervani, who presided over the meeting, assured that the government will bring Handri-Neeva water to Punganur to solve drought problem in wes-tern mandals in the district and reminded that the district has been facing drought problem for the last five-years.
She stressed the need to keep the surroundings clean and urged the people make the Neeru-Chettu programme a grand success. District collector Siddharth Jain said that the district stood first place in the state in Neeru-Chettu programme and explained steps taken by the district administration to solve drinking water problem. MLC Y. Srinivasula Reddy urged the district administration to acquire sufficient land for IIT at Yerpedu.
