Amit Shah lashes out at Chandy, sends out call to oust congress from Kerala
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday lashed out at the Oommen Chandy government and said it was celebrating its fourth year of corruption.
“The BJP’s aim is to wipe out Congress from Kerala just as it had done at the national level last year,” he said while inaugurating the 24-hour protest by party men in front of the secretariat against corruption.
Braving heavy rain, Mr Amit Shah said that like the previous UPA government at the centre, the state government was also neck-deep in corruption. “Oommen Chandy government has been overshadowed by several corruption cases like palmolein and now the bargate. The UPA government had 76 corruption cases to its credit for a decade and the Kerala government is also following its path,” he said.
He also claimed that the Opposition at the centre had so far not been able to level any allegations against the Narendra Modi government. He called upon the people to defeat the UDF in the local body elections and oust it from power in the Assembly polls.
“It is high time the people in Kerala replicated the developmental models. The aim of the BJP government is to see the youth working in their home state and avoid the kind of problems faced by Kerala nurses abroad,” added Mr Amith Shah.
Scores of BJP supporters from Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts had converged at the secretariat since Monday evening. By Tuesday morning, more supporters from other districts too joined the siege which started from the main gate till the Azad gate
