I had to lose 10 kilos for Jackson Durai: Sibiraj

Actor says that Jackson Durai will be very different from the recent horror films

Sibiraj is all smiles as he’s gearing up for his next horror flick Jackson Durai in which he plays a cop. The Naaigal Jackiradhai actor explains why this movie will be special for him. “I had to lose 10 kilos for the role. It was very challenging because I had to follow a strict diet,” says Sibiraj.

“I am being trained by Basu, who’s the official trainer for the Bangalore Royal Challengers, and has trained sportspersons like Virat Kohli and Dipika Pallikal,” informs Sibi, adding that he has been thriving on millets. “I have stopped eating rice and chappatis — the whole credit goes to my wife. She adheres to the diet chart that has been prescribed to me. I only consume salads and egg whites. I run for 45 minutes at the Boat Club every evening and morning, as well as boxing. I am not doing this for the six packs. This is a natural method for losing weight and becoming fit,” he tells us.

Sibiraj says that Jackson Durai will be very different from the recent horror films. He says that the story is about an undercover cop who goes to investigate a village that has been haunted for more than a century.

“When Dharanidharan of Burma fame narrated the story, dad (Sathyaraj) liked the script, and I eventually came on board,” says Sibiraj, who clarifies that they don’t play father and son in the film. “Far from it,” he says. “Our characters get together at one point, but that’s about it,” he adds.
