Indians are highest data users: Vodafone
Vodafone India has now around 64 million data subscribers
New Delhi: Vodafone said on Tuesday that Indians are highest data users for the group anywhere in the world. “We are today the largest company in the Vodafone group in terms of data traffic. We have just beaten Germany few months backs. The hunger for data in India is even surpassing Europe,” said Sunil Sood, MD and CEO of Vodafone India.
Vodafone India has now around 64 million data subscribers. There are 40 million subscribers with data usage of greater than 1MB. The company generated data (browsing) revenue at Rs 5,690 crores in FY15, a 65.5 per cent growth. 3G revenues for Vodafone grew by 140 per cent year on year. Mr Sood said the company will be launching 4G services in select circles in the later half of the year.
