Telangana, Andhra Pradesh pass percentage surpasses India average

Girls outperform boys in the recently announced ICSE, ISC results

Hyderabad: The ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) results were announced on Monday and girls outperformed the boys with higher pass percentages. Students from city stole the show by scoring the top marks.

Overall, students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have excelled this year by securing pass percentage of 99.11 per cent and 97.92 per cent respectively, which is more than the national average.

However, only one girl student, Harshita Jhawar, from NASR School, Hyderabad, has made it to the All India merit list in ISC with a score of 99.25 per cent.

Harshita scored 99 per cent in English, 100 per cent in commerce, 99 per cent in accounts, 98 per cent in economics and 99 per cent in mathematics. No other student from both the states has made it to the ICSE version of the list. Several city ICSE schools achieved 100 per cent results.

HPS, Begumpet, registered 100 per cent results in ICSE and ISC. Vedant Agarwal topped in ISC in his school with 97 per cent. He has secured 100 per cent marks in commerce.

Aakriti Krishnan topped in ICSE from the same school with 96.5 per cent. Sri Aurobindo International School, Vidyanagar, also registered 100 per cent results with all 25 students in ISC and 74 in ICSE clearing the exams.

Principal Chhalamayi Reddy said, “In ISC, Shaswati Prusty in the science stream scored 91.4 per cent and Sanchit Poddar in commerce got 95.8 per cent. In ICSE, the school toppers were S.S. Rakshitha, who got 93.8 per cent in the science stream, and Disha Rungta got 89.7 per cent in commerce stream.”

In ICSE, NASR students Ayesha Afreen and Anusri Uttarwar scored 94.8 per cent. Johnson Grammar School, Habsiguda, also secured 100 per cent results with Satvik Ambati scoring 98 per cent is six subjects in ICSE.

From Gitanjali School, Begumpet, K. Aditya was the topper with 97.8 per cent in ICSE, and V.P. Radhalaxmi with 98.75 per cent in ISC. This school too got 100 per cent results.

Niraj Public School secured 100 per cent results in ICSE with school toppers being Vasudha Hemadri Bhotlas scoring 97.3 per cent and Soumya Goddanti 96 per cent. The toppers from Kalpa school, which secured 100 per cent results in ICSE, were Priyamvada (96.6 per cent), Yeshwant (96 per cent) and Abdul Mateen (96 per cent).

In all, 3,266 students from 46 schools in both TS and AP passed in ICSE and 288 students from seven schools in ISC. The national pass percentage was 98.49 per cent in ICSE and 96.28 per cent in ISC.
