Reveal motive behind yatra, Uma Maheswara asks Jagan Mohan Reddy
Kakinada: Irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao on Monday criticis-ed YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his Odarpu yatras. Speaking to media persons here, the minister said that Mr Reddy should make it clear as to why he was undertaking Odarpu Yatra without any reason. He said that YSRC president seemed to be confused and that it was his responsibility to reveal the objective of Odarpu yatra.
He said that the Congress leaders during former chief minister late Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure had looted the natural resources of the state.
“The Congress leaders indulged in corruption on a large scale and the government could not earn enough income on sand, iron ore, barytes, red sanders and others resources,” he said.
“We are taking strict steps to curb corruption and we are recovering natural resources like red sanders and others from the clutches of criminal elements,” he said.
Mr Rao also said that the government would give drinking and irrigation water to Rayalaseema people through Pattiseema Lift Irrigation scheme “The YSRC president is trying to stop the project as he doesn't want to provide these resources to Rayalaseema people,” he said.
