Karimnagar: Crash course for students on culture
Karimnagar: Over 1,100 students from various schools across the district are learning traditions and culture of India, patriotism, yoga, moral and ethical values and sports at the seven-day long camp, Shubhapradam. It is being held by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishattu, a wing of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in collaboration with Jathiya Sahitya Parishattu (JSP), a socio-literary organisation. The city’s Vivekananda Vidyaniketan High School is hosting the camp from May 13.
Vanga Chandana, a class 10 student from Eligaid ZP High School, said that she was reaping the benefits of exercise by taking part in yoga classes and learnt the importance of respecting parents, teachers and members of society including some verbal skills at the camp. “Now, I am aware of several simple tips that help to lead a happy and healthy life,” added Chandana.
Nandi Harishni, a student of Vivekananda Vidyaniketan said that she learnt respecting nature, general science and skills like dancing and singing in the camp. She thanked the TTD for conducting the camp in Karimnagar. She is a native of Bhagathnagar in the city. She stated that she gained knowledge over so many subjects, which are not taught in a school. Sriharsha, another student from Mankammathota of the city, stated that she enhanced her understanding about patriotism, spirituality, cultures and traditions of the country including integrity like never before. She also claimed that she was informed about cleanliness. She added that she was inspired from biographies of Swami Vivekananda, Dr B. R. Ambedkar and many other well respected people.
