Chandrababu Naidu to give one MLC seat to BJP in Andhra Pradesh

CM Naidu said he will consider the request only next time in 2017

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has agreed to allot one MLC seat to the BJP, its ally in the AP government. Mr Naidu, who was in Delhi, had a meeting with BJP president Amit Shah on Monday. Union parliamentary affairs minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and BJP Andhra Pradesh president Kambhampati Haribabu, Union minister of state for science and technology Sujana Chowdary and AP government special representative in Delhi Kambhampati Rammohan Rao too were present in the meeting.

Though the state BJP leadership had asked Mr Naidu to allot two seats, Mr Naidu had told them that it would not be possible this time in view of several TD aspirants seeking MLC posts. The CM said he will consider the request only next time in 2017. Accordingly, BJP sources said that the party will field BJP national executive member and senior party leader Somu Veerraju as its candidate.
