Andhra Pradesh new capital foundation on June 6
CM would lay the foundation stone and perform a puja at exactly 8.49 am on June 6

Hyderabad: A year after the bifurcation of the state, the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh will be constructing its own capital — called Amaravati — near Vijayawada. The government has finalised the muhurat schedule for the construction of the new capital city at Tullur near Mangalagiri of Guntur district.
The Chief Minister would lay the foundation stone and perform a puja at exactly 8.49 am on June 6, said Parakala Prabhakar, the media advisor to the government. Most of the ministers, MLAs and other dignitaries will be participating in the event.
The state government has reportedly consulted astrologers and heads of mutts for the date and time. Although, it was initially thought that the state would pick a date in May for the ceremony, the astrologer preferred June 6 for the muhurat, and hence it was finalised, sources said.
Mr Prabhakar told this correspondent that the construction all administrative buildings, secretariat, Assembly and other necessary infrastructure will be completed by 2019.
