Hyderabad: A minor teenaged boy in LB Nagar allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl.
The incident, which occurred last week, came to light late as the parents were reluctant to complain. The boy took the victim to his house when his parents were not present and raped her, police said.
The victim and the culprit are neighbours. The boy who is studying in Class IX stays opposite to the house of the victim.
Last Friday when the victim was playing in front of her house the boy took her to his house and raped her.
“The girl returned home and told her mother what happened. However, her parents were reluctant to approach the police. The incident came to light when they lodged a complaint on Sunday,” said inspector E. Srinivas Reddy. Based on the complaint a rape case was booked.
