Kerala Schools fly high in ICSE, ISC exams
Kochi: The 28 schools in the Ernakulam district ha-ve recorded outstanding performances in the ICSE and ISC examinations by scoring 100 per cent victory. The results were announced on Monday by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
Don Bosco Senior Secondary School in Vaduthala in the city has shown impressive performance in the examinations, said Fr. Bau Manissery, principal of the School.
Among the 59 students appeared for the ISC examination 12 scored distinctions and the rest first division. Out of the 94 students appeared for the ICSE 30 secured distinction and the rest first classes, the principal said.
Lakshmi Mohan, a student with the St Patrick’s Academy, Angamaly, bagged the national second rank, scoring an impressive 496 marks out of a possible 500 (99.5 per cent).
“I knew I will be getting good scores but the rank came as a little surprise. I want to pursue Computer Engine-ering and want to study in the IIT,” she told DC.
Though individual school results were available, the total number of Distinctions and First Classes could be known only by Tuesday, said Rosamma Mathew, principal, Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School, Kaloor. She is the coordinator for the district.
Out of the 34 students from the school who sat for the ISC examination, 21 bagged Distinctions and 21 First Class. In the ICSE section, 43 students got Distinction and the rest 19 First Class. Last year too, all schools had achieved cent per cent pass.
