Script is ready for Gopichand’s biopic

Sudheer Babu, the son-in-law of legendary actor Krishna, is coming out with Mosagallaku Mosagadu, a comedy-thriller. Actually, this title is very popular with his father-in-law.

“It’s just a coincidence. I didn’t select the title because of my father-in-law. I chose it because it suits our subject perfectly. Earlier, the title was used for a cowboy film, while my film is completely different,” says Sudheer Babu.

The actor wants roles that portray a variety of characters and films that deal with diverse subjects. “Story is my first criteria. Even if the earlier film was a blockbuster, I don’t like to work within the same genre. I prefer to play a new character in each new film,” he says.

Talking about his upcoming film, he says it’s not a sequel to Swamy Ra Ra. “The producer is the same, but it is not a continuation of the earlier film. This film starts in Uttar Pradesh and moves to Hyderabad. It’s an interesting film about idols,” says the actor.

His father-in-law Krishna and brother-in-law Mahesh Babu are very big in Telugu cinema and in that backdrop, did he feel any pressure? “Yes, there is a bit of pressure when my film is releasing. That’s the reason I choose my scripts carefully,” he says. He added that before signing a film he usually discusses it with them. “They are experienced and I take their inputs and discuss my films with them. But in the end, the decision is mine. If I like the script, I accept it,” he says.

Sudheer Babu is also a badminton player. He believes being a sportsman has kept him fit till today. “I learnt a lot as a sportsperson — discipline, hard work, punctuality and to keep my body in shape,” he says. In this film, there are many action scenes and he does those scenes on his own. “I never use a body double for the action scenes as I always prefer to do them on my own. I don’t even use wires,” he says.

Sudheer Babu, a friend of badminton legend Pullela Gopichand, is planning to make his biopic. Sudheer Babu is playing the lead in the film. “He is an inspiration for many people. The script is ready and it gives details of Gopichand’s life, the incidents in his life, his compromises and his family. There are many emotions in this subject and I am looking for the right person who can produce this film,” says Sudheer Babu. He added that it can’t be a fully commercial film, but at the same time, it should reach a wide audience. “The film may go on the floors in the coming year,” he informs.
