Emraan, Vidya shoot in a sandstorm for 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani'

Mohit Suri wanted to capture it as a metaphor for trouble brewing between characters

Mumbai: One has to learn dedication from the cast of 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani'. Director Mohit Suri, who has previously made blockbusters like 'Aashiqui 2', 'Ek Villain', reveals that he wanted to capture a sandstorm shot and use it as a metaphor for the impending trouble brewing between the romance of Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan's character in the film.

Mohit, who was shooting in the UAE, had a very small window to shoot this sequence before the sandstorm lashed on. However, on the given day the calculations went all haywire as the weather became extreme and Mohit was advised to not shoot. Emraan and Vidya stepped up and told the director that they don't mind trying to get the shot before the sandstorm trapped them. And when Mohit said action, the scene was taken in just one shot! The cast and crew made it to the hotel and in safety just in time. And the shot is part of the film as Mohit wanted it to be - a metaphor signifying the impending trouble coming in their relationship.

The story is about ungrateful love and also about a relationship that surpasses everything the world has to dictate. Vidya Balan who plays the role of Vasudha Prasad is a single mother who works as a flower decorator at one of the posh hotels in the city.

Aarav Ruparel played by Emraan Hashmi, is a rich hotelier who has lived a life out of a suitcase. He is one interesting character with a murky past, having a good mixture of appealing characteristics and flaws. As fate would have it, their paths cross in the most unusual of circumstances. The rest that follows is how they go through an emotional turmoil and realize their love for each other. Their chemistry will take you through an array of emotions.
