Records room of school set ablaze in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: Goods worth Rs 2 lakh were destroyed when miscreants set ablaze the records room of Subhash Memorial English Medium School at Padarayanapura in J.J. Nagar police limits early Saturday.
The police said the incident came to light when Ismail of Padarayanapura went to the school after hearing the sound of crackers. Soon he saw, the records room of the school on the ground floor on fire and alerted the control room of the fire force department.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the school immediately. During investigation, fire force officials learnt that it was a case of mischief and subsequently informed the J.J. police. A CCTV camera installed on the premises of school showed a few people jumping inside the campus.
“Police are verifying the CCTV footage and have launched a search for the mischief mongers. Two computers were among the goods destroyed in the fire,” said an investigating officer.
Officials of DPI visited the school. An officer said they were waiting for the FIR. “We will submit a report to the government,” said an officer.
