Chandrababu Naidu’s 3-day stay to spur Vijayawada to prominence

Vijayawada: The three-days-in-a-week stay of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for initiating administration from the camp office here may change the fate of city.
The city will also get more political mileage and every development of the city will take centrestage in the future. All major political parties are also eagerly waiting for the developments.
According to ongoing developments, CM Chandrababu Naidu will start the government functioning from Vijayawada on June 2 and will also be in the city thrice a week. As per the officials, the entire state administration wings may focus on city developments right from then onwards.
Actually, the city has witnessed only few changes during the last one decade.
The city has three roads, including Mahatma Gandhi, Karl Marx and No. 5, roads. There are no visible changes except the entrance of three big hotels and shopping malls in the city with increasing traffic. Although the city surroundings are selected for the capital, there are no great developments visible but now the CM’s entry will definitely change the city, says erstwhile VUDA former chairman T. Premnath.
He said that CM Naidu implemented the development plan in the name of CM package with 27 works for the city development during 2001-2003. “Everyone hopes that CM will again introduce better things for the development of the city during his three-day stay”, he added. The city politics may get more importance from the ongoing developments from the CM’s stay. Actually the AP Congress leaders are shifting their base to Vijayawada city.
The YSRCP is planning to focus on city developments while Left parties have already started their attack on the government particularly on loan waiver and land acquisition developments in capital. Moreover, the BJP has already opened the state party office in city. All political developments from the city might get significance, says political analyst A. Brahmaiah.
