Bengaluru police arrest 3 in Ahmedabad, gold worth Rs 2.85 lakh recovered

They were working as jewellery designers at an outlet located in Whitefield

BENGALURU: The South-East division police busted an inter-state gang of robbers by arresting three of the seven-member gang in Ahmedabad. Whitefield police have recovered a gold chain of 105 gm worth Rs 2.85 lakh from the accused. With this arrest, police have cracked a theft that took place in October, 2014.

The arrested have been identified as Chenaram, 25, Deva, 19, Shamsundar, 24, all natives of Rajasthan. They were working as jewellery designers at an outlet located in Whitefield police station limits. The complainant, Bastin Abraham, had stated that the seven people were working in his company and had made away with ornaments meant for designing on October 12.

The complainant alleged that 841 grams of gold was given to them to design jewellery. However, they didn’t report for work the next day and fled with gold. During investigation, the police learnt that they were hailing from Rajasthan and Gujarat. Based on information, the police rushed to Ahmedabad and nabbed the trio. However, the other four accused escaped.
