The actress reportedly slit her throat in her Mumbai appartment
Mumbai: Model turned actress Shikha Joshi took her life in her Andheri apartment on Saturday evening. Reports on Sunday confirm that the actress commited suicide by slitting her throat with a knife in her bathroom.
According to Indian Express, the 40-year-old ‘BA Pass’ actress took her life because of continued lack of employment. The deceased, moved to Mumbai from Delhi, to live the Bollywood dream that ended tragically on Saturday at 6.30 pm. According to the report, the actress went into her bathroom with a knife, and slit her throat. After a while her roommate went to check on her and noted that she didn’t respond. After knocking several times, the actress finally opened the door with a bleeding throat.
On being rushed to the hospital, the actress was asked why she cut herself to which she said that she was ‘frustrated because she could not get any work’.
She was taken to a hospital in the vicinity, but was declared dead upon admission. Joshi had four slit marks on her neck, three small and one big gash. According to the Versova police, the scarring indicated that she was hesitant and got cold feet hence ruling out murder.
A case of accidental death has been registered at Versova police station. Shikha had bagged small roles in television shows but failed to get any kind of consistent work.
