Genpact to train 100 commerce students to get jobs

Every student will undergo training for six hours a day
Karimnagar: Genpact Limited, a multinational business processing company will provide training to 100 commerce graduates to enable them to secure jobs in finance and banking sectors at SRR government degree and post-graduation college for 10 days. Nasscom in association with Genpact is interviewing students from different districts of Telangana and will shortlist 100 students before the training commences.
SRR college principal Dr B. Madhusudan Reddy said that Nasscom selected the institution for imparting essential skills to 100 commerce graduates of Telangana state under a pilot project being carried out to produce talented workforce to meet requirements of companies registered with the association. “Nasscom is relying on 15 institutions across the country for this purpose. SRR GDPDC is the only institution from Telangana to have been selected by Nasscom. Classrooms and computer labs of the institution will be used by Genpact.
As many as 500 students of different districts have applied for the training. They are being interviewed over telephone,” he said. Genpact will teach essential skills and provide guidance to the shortlisted candidates by deploying professional tutors. Every student will undergo training for six hours a day for a period of 10 days. In sum, they will be given training for 60 hours. Then, Nasscom will conduct a placement drive, inviting software companies. Every graduate will be given two opportunities to bag a job.
“Several commerce students belonging to Karimnagar and neighbouring districts are likely to crack posts in finance, banking and insurance sectors with the help of the pilot project,” stated Mr Reddy.
