92 per cent attendance in first Telangana Eamcet
Hyderabad: The first Eamcet in Telangana state was held on Thursday with an attendance of nearly 92 per cent.
Officials said no cases of malpractices were reported from any of the 423 exam centres across the state. Also, no errors in the question paper have been reported so far.
Interestingly, lower attendance levels were recorded in some zones of Hyderabad and border cities of Kodad and Khammam, which were the most preferred exam centres for students of Andhra Pradesh writing the test.
Officials informed that the overall attendance of students in the engineering stream was 91.76 per cent and in the medical stream it was 91.68 per cent.
A few students were barred from entering the exam hall as they couldn’t reach on time. Meanwhile, parents protested near a centre in Ramanthapur in the city alleging a question paper leak.
“There was no incident of paper leak. Someone was seen coming out of the centre and he went back in with a paper which was a bank statement. There was complete police security with observers at all centres,” said TS Eamcet convenor Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao.
Kodad and Khammam, the centres preferred by AP students, recorded attendances of 85.28 and 87.57 per cent respectively.
