Andhra Pradesh, Telangana RTC staff get pay hikes, call off strike
Hyderabad: Hours before the official bifurcation date set for the APSRTC, the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday agreed to the demands of the unions of a 43 per cent fitment, while the Telangana government went a step ahead and offered a 44 per cent fitment, bringing an end to the eight-day-long RTC strike.

The decision was arrived at after more than 15 rounds of discussions between the state governments and the RTC management and four rounds of meetings with the unions, after operational losses of Rs 208 crore.

Although both the state governments had earlier rejected the 43 per cent demand, the delay in making the decision has cost the corporation dearly.
