Patna: The death toll in the two high intensity quakes that rattled Bihar on Tuesday rose to 19 on Wednesday, with two more deaths reported from Vaishali and Siwan districts.
Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Vyasji on Wednesday said, “rescue and rehabilitation operation in all the affected districts are being carried out. Officials have been asked to continuously patrol in their respective districts and report back. So far 19 people have died and around 82 persons have been injured in Tuesday’s temblor”.
Amid tremors and aftershocks, a conference on disaster risk reduction was organized in order to create awareness among people of Bihar.
