Be in office 4 days a week, VM Sudheeran tells CM, Ministers
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran has written to the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues requesting their presence in their offices at least four days a week.
This was as a follow-up of May 9 KPCC executive decision to make the UDF government more efficient and people-friendly.
With a long list of recommendations, Mr Sudheeran requested the ministers to keep their offices and functioning transparent and people-friendly.
Transfers of government officers should be undertaken as per the prevalent norms which should not have any controversy later on. Temporary appointments should also be complete and transparent so that it will not create any controversy in future.
Few months back too, Mr Sudheeran had come out with dos and don’ts for the Congress ministers. At the KPCC executive meeting, he urged Congress ministers to act as role models for others.
There have been allegations against few of the Muslim League ministers that they come to the capital city on Wednesday morning to attend the cabinet and by evening they return to their constituencies.
Mr Sudheeran also wanted the minister’s programmes informed in advance to the local DCC/Block/Mandalam representatives.
Those ministers who attend non-government public programmes have to make sure that it is important and relevant and should also seek the opinion of the local leaders before committing it.
