Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film with Umesh Shukla?

Actor to take the final call while his wife Manyata is shortlisting the best ones

If all goes well, Umesh Shukla will soon be directing Sanjay Dutt, who is currently in Yerwada Jail. The actor is serving 42 months of his five-year sentence for illegal possession of arms during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. In his absence, his wife Manyata is taking care of his production house and discussing scripts with filmmakers to zero in on something that would suit Sanjay when he resumes work after his release.

A source told this paper, “Umesh has met Manyata and has discussed a project with her which will star Sanjay. It is a script that suits the actor. Umesh is in the process of finishing All Is Well but he is also planning his upcoming films.”

Reportedly, Sanjay writes letters to his wife and friends from jail and shares what’s going on in his mind. Sanjay’s friends don’t talk about it as it’s too personal. But he is all set to make a comeback in films. He has also written a few scripts in jail and everything will fall into place once he is out this year.

The source added, “Filmmakers are queuing up to sign the actor because his comeback film will ride on many expectations. Sanjay will take the final call but meanwhile, Manyata is making it easy for him to shortlist the best ones. If all goes well, Umesh will soon be calling the shots and staring at a monitor which has Sanjay on it.”
