Satyam case: Raju & Co. to be released today
Hyderabad: Satyam Computers founder B. Ramalinga Raju and nine others are expected to be released from the Cherlapally Central Prison on Wednesday.
The release was postponed as the jail authorities did not receive a copy of the bail order.
Mr Raju and others filed appeals in the sessions court challenging the trial court order in the over Rs 7,000 crore scandal.
Mr Raju’s lawyer said the bail order could not be submitted to the 21st chief metropolitan magistrate’s court.
“We did not receive the bail orders yet,” said a senior prison official. Mr Raju and his brother and former managing director of Satyam, Mr B. Ramaraju were granted bail on condition that they furnish personal bonds of Rs 1 lakh each and two sureties. They are also to deposit one tenth of the fine amount within four weeks from the date of release.
The other eight convicts were also granted bail on submitting personal bonds of Rs 50,000 each and two sureties.
On April 9, the ACMM Court, convicted Raju and others for criminal conspiracy and cheating, among other offences.
