Gossiping MPs draw deputy speaker's ire in Lok Sabha, rebuked
New Delhi: A bunch of gossiping members from the treasury benches attracted the ire of the deputy speaker in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
As the House was discussing amendments to the Negotiable Instruments Act, deputy speaker M Thambidurai said members from the treasury side were talking in the house when an important bill was being discussed.
"Please sit outside, if you have to talk...I am hearing voices from this (treasury) side only...I am sorry to say that...," he said. As some senior members asked their colleagues to maintain silence, members from Congress retorted "BJP members are gossiping (gappe lada rahe hain)".
Several BJP members, mostly seated in the back rows, were seen chatting for quite some time. Some women MPs of the party were also seen talking in a separate group. The over three-month-long budget session ended on Wednesday.
